According to Bkav statistics, 155,640 computers have been attacked by ransomware. In Vietnam alone, the damage caused by viruses amounts to tens of thousands of billions of VND, including: money paid to hackers to ransom data, direct revenue loss due to system downtime, damage due to lost customers, affected brands, etc.
For example, on the first day of a data encryption attack, a business lost more than 100 billion VND. Another business's estimated damage after being attacked by ransomware was up to 800 billion VND. On an international scale, cyber attacks will cause damage of about 9.5 trillion USD by 2024 (Cybersecurity Ventures).
