09:28:00 | 22-08-2024

Last week, about 8.5 million computers were affected by the "Blue Screen of Death" (BSoD) error after CrowdStrike updated Falcon Sensor for Windows. Immediately, hackers took advantage of this situation to attack users. Through phishing emails pretending to be instructions on how to use repair tools for Windows devices, hackers silently install Daolpu malware that steals account login information, browser history, and saved authentication cookies. Stored in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Coc Coc web browsers.

Fake documents containing viruses named:

'New_Recovery_Tool_to_help_with_CrowdStrike_issue_impacting_Windows. docm.'

CrowdStrike recommends that users only follow instructions on the company's website or verified, trusted sources.
