Super typhoon Yagi and floods are causing serious consequences for people and property across the northern provinces. Millions of Vietnamese people are united in their hearts to their fellow countrymen in the flood-hit areas. Taking advantage of this situation, bad guys have created many tricks to defraud and profit.

In recent days, many fake fanpages of agencies such as the Fatherland Front Committee, the Red Cross Association of localities... have appeared with images and information identical to the official pages, calling on kind-hearted people to donate and transfer money to personal accounts for appropriation.

Another trick is that bad guys spread information that Viettel Telecom provides free mobile signal when there is no wifi. Just compose a message according to the given syntax and you will be able to use it for free. In fact, this is a scam, stealing money from users' mobile accounts.

Experts recommend that at present, people need to be especially vigilant with information on social networks, and absolutely do not transfer donations or support to personal, unverified accounts online.

The Government Information Fanpage on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/iHryKQ6aevRroxNK/) has provided information on receiving relief aid recommended by the State, including account numbers, bank QR codes, cash receiving addresses, etc. People should use this information to avoid being scammed and losing money.

Information on receiving donations to support flood victims is posted on the Government Information fanpage.

People can also report to authorities when they discover fanpages or personal accounts showing signs of fraud.
