Type the keyword “zalo web” into the search engine, the top results always have 2 addresses “zaloweb.me” and “zaloweb.vn”. These are all fake websites created by bad guys to trick users. Every day, there are millions of visits to these addresses.
To deceive users, websites are disguised as the real Zalo homepage, making it difficult to distinguish between real and fake, with instructions on how to log in on the computer in many different ways. However, if you click on the " login to zalo on the web" button, depending on the time, users will be redirected to football betting advertising pages, adult content or virus-containing pages. Normally, to avoid detection, hackers still allow users to redirect access to the real Zalo homepage, which is https://zalo.me/.
“We have been monitoring for a while, sometimes bad guys install viruses or display unhealthy content, sometimes they point to the real Zalo homepage address. However, with the need to use Zalo on computer browsers in agencies and offices, there are still a large number of users searching for “zalo web” every day and then mistakenly accessing fake pages, this is a serious threat to national security. Bkav has sent a dispatch reporting the problem to the Ministry of Information and Communications to block these malicious websites. This is not Zalo's problem, but this national chat application is being exploited by bad guys,” said Mr. Vo Duy Khanh, an expert at Bkav.
Bkav experts recommend that anyone who accidentally accesses the above fake websites should immediately scan for viruses to ensure network security.
