Social networks have recently appeared many advertisements for services to read messages, track and monitor social network accounts using technology. When users contact, the bad guys announce the price of each service package and ask for a part of the money in advance. When the victim transfers the money, they immediately block the communication and disappear. Recently, the police of Huong Son district (Ha Tinh) prosecuted two bad guys who used this trick to steal more than 100 million VND.
This is a simple scam scenario, but many people fall into the trap because of the urgent psychology of wanting to investigate and monitor others. According to Bkav experts, the danger is not only that the bad guys swindle money and then disappear. In many cases, they also trick the victims into installing malicious applications and software on their phones and those of the person being monitored that can steal information, bank accounts, social network accounts and then send this information to them.
The Information Security Department recommends that reading messages is a violation of the law. Users should not act in a way that violates the privacy of others, directly or indirectly, and should not download applications from unknown sources. It is important to install and use anti-virus software to detect malware that is tracking the user's device.
